Ahead of Samsung’s UNPACKED event this Wednesday, our first chart this week showcases our new mobile ownership data, with a specific focus on Samsung Owners.

When we ask this group how long they have owned their current mobile phone for, a considerable 56% say less than a year, with 1 in 4 reporting less than six months. The considerable demand for new Samsung phones is apparent here, as is the ease of entry that Samsung provide with a range of affordable handsets. Yet at the other end of the spectrum, it’s around 1 in 5 who have owned their model for over 2 years, demonstrating the longevity of Samsung models.

Equally important is that 60% of current Samsung Owners say they plan to upgrade their handset within in the next 12 months, which is promising news for the coming launch of the anticipated Galaxy Note 8 – especially when 84% of this audience are currently satisfied with their smartphone device and 76% say Samsung would be the top choice for their next handset.
