For today’s chart, we take a look at the just how important mobiles have become to the daily digital lives of 16-24s.
Practically all 16-24s own a smartphone now, and by some distance this group identifies mobile as their most important device. Arguably most significant, however, is that time spent online on mobiles continues to rise with each year that passes – now standing at nearly 3.5 hours every day.
Social plays a major role within this daily online time, with 88% of 16-24s saying they use social networking apps and 86% using messaging apps. That’s yet more evidence for why instant, mobile-first strategies are so key to engaging this group.
