Today we draw on more data from our new GWI Entertainment report (download a free summary here) to track the ongoing rise of mobiles as content consumption devices.

At a global level, over a fifth say that they are now using their mobiles to stream live television, while close to a third are watching films or on-demand TV. Although these figures are still somewhat behind the equivalents for PCs/laptops, engagement via these devices is continuing to trend downwards, just as the numbers for mobiles remain on an upward trajectory.

For tablets, meanwhile, the figures are largely static. As we discuss in our Tablet Trends report, that’s a result of tablet devices facing a strengthening challenge from mobiles.
