Last week, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings predicted that mobile carriers will soon need to offer unlimited data for video streaming to meet the growing demand for watching TV and movies on mobile.
When it comes to the devices Netflixers use to access subscription online TV services, PCs/laptops currently remain the preferred option (thanks to their larger screens and higher resolution).
But there’s already an impressive 42% who are using these services on their mobiles. And it’s not difficult to imagine this figure reaching much higher should mobile carriers begin offering unlimited data allowances for streaming (as T-Mobile has already done) – especially given the on-the-go access that mobiles will provide.
