Continuing our look at interest levels in a range of new products and services, today we place a spotlight on the numbers keen to rent rooms and apartments via Airbnb-style platforms.

Overall, nearly half (49%) of internet users say that they’ve either done this already or are interested in doing it in the future – showing just how widespread Airbnb’s appeal has become.

Enthusiasm peaks among the top income and lower age groups. Unsurprisingly, though, it falls in line with family size: the more children someone has, the less keen they are to choose Airbnb over more formal types of holiday accommodation.
