For this week’s first post, we continue our preview of the new GWI Social report (you can download a free summary here) by looking at visit frequency on some of the top global platforms.

Overall, Facebook can boast the most engaged membership base; 59% of its active users say that they typically log on more than once a day – a figure which is significantly ahead of the equivalents for the other networks featured on our chart and which underlines Facebook’s enduring reach.

Arguably, though, perhaps the most significant trend here is that about a third of active users on the other four platforms are also frequent visitors. This confirms the ubiquity of social networking within the daily lives of many as well as the reality that people are now connecting via multiple devices throughout the day.
