News circulated last week that Snapchat’s parent company (recently renamed Snap Inc.) was gearing for a flotation that could value the five-year old app at a hefty $25bn.
It’s the demographics of Snapchat which remain key to this, with the service boasting one of the youngest user bases tracked by GWI. Among Millennials in particular, it’s 45% who have a Snapchat account, rising to almost 6 in 10 in North America. It has notable reach in the Middle East and Latin America, too.
With its serious foothold among this trend-setting demographic, it could soon become one of the most valuable unicorns out there.
