According to research in our latest GWI Social report (you can download a free summary here), Tumblr is the social platform with the highest share of 16-24s among its user base.

If we look at the top 10 global platforms outside of China, Tumblr can boast that 47% of its active members aged 16-64 are drawn from the youngest demographic. Instagram and YouTube also have particularly young profiles: they are the only other platforms where the greatest share of users come from the 16-24 group.

In contrast, Facebook now has the second-oldest user base – behind only LinkedIn. Just 26% of its active users are aged 16-24, with 25-34s (many of whom started using Facebook years ago) forming the biggest group.
