Our final Chart of the Day this week confirms just how engaged Facebookers are with social media – with the average user now devoting around 2 hours 20 minutes to networking and messaging every day.

What’s more, this is a metric which continues to rise on a year-on-year basis; while back in 2012 they were spending under 2 hours on social media, fast-forward to 2016 and this has risen by 20 minutes.

The impact of multi-networking and rising levels of mobile usage are undoubtedly having an impact here, as is the fact that so many online activities are continuing to migrate towards social networks and messaging apps – from watching videos and sports events right through to browsing products and interacting with brands in real-time.
