A new addition to the GWI survey – device satisfaction – forms the basis of our last Chart of the Day this week.

The rapid advance of affordable yet technologically advanced smartphones is reflected in the high scores that these devices post in terms of consumer satisfaction. In fact, it’s only 5% of smartphone owners who say they are dissatisfied with their mobile. In contrast, almost half of owners say they are very satisfied with their smartphone – helping to explain why mobiles consistently feature prominently on the list of topics that people are most likely to talk about online.

In terms of specific brands, it’s Apple which is in the best position here. Almost 6 in 10 iPhone owners say they are very satisfied with their smartphone, with figures even higher (64%) among iPhone 6/6+ owners. Other brands may post lower scores (with HTC coming in bottom of our list on 47%), but that around half or more of owners of almost all our brands claim to be very satisfied with their smartphone is a clear indication of why there are so many brand advocates in this area.
