Our first Chart of the Day this week confirms why premium payment providers like American Express offer their customers the chance to turn monthly spending into free flights and vacations.
AmEx users are 50% more likely than users of Mastercard or Visa to be vacationing abroad on at least a yearly basis. They are big business travelers too; some 44% of users are traveling abroad for business at least once a year – a figure that compares to around a quarter of Mastercard and Visa users.
The potential link between these travel behaviors and brand advocacy is clear to see: almost 1 in 2 AmEx users say they will promote a brand in return for rewards, with a third claiming they will do this because of simple love for a brand.
