According to our data, 8% of internet users travel abroad for business purposes at least once every 2-3 months. And as our final Chart of the Day this week demonstrates, it’s Virgin Atlantic which has the highest proportion of these Business Travelers among its customer base (on 35%). Etihad also scores well here.
Across the board, in fact, premium airlines are attracting a high ratio of Business Travelers – as an audience, this group are 2.5x as likely as the average to use both Virgin Atlantic and Etihad (which are typically positioned much further down the list when we look at the broader online population).
Relevant here is that loyalty rewards could be key to ensuring frequent business in this space – this audience is 42% more likely to say they tend to opt in for personalized loyalty rewards from brands (2 in 3 do).
