Our final post this week concludes our preview of the new GWI Brand report (download a free copy here) to analyze the popularity of blogging.

According to our latest wave of research, 36% of internet users aged 16-64 said that they wrote on a personal blog within the last month – a figure which represents a mighty 545 million people across GWI’s 32 countries.

Popular culture dominates in terms of favorite topics, led by films (43%), music, and technology (40% each).

Outside of the top 10, though, we find that some 15% of bloggers are posting product and brand reviews – indicating how important this space has become in terms of brand-relevant conversations.
