Globally, mobiles are now the most important device for getting online. As such, we’re seeing more and more activities – from social networking to buying online – that have made a comprehensive migration to smartphones.
Globally, it’s now 52% of internet users purchasing via mobile each month. And with 63% searching for products on these devices, it’s clear that most aren’t just browsing.
It’s internet users in APAC who are leading the charge here, a result of exceptionally strong mobile uptake in this region (93% of internet users own a smartphone in APAC). In fact, online adults in APAC are around 2x as likely as all other regions to be engaging with m-commerce.
However, with smartphone ownership maintaining its gradual climb in both Europe and North America, m-commerce will continue to rise in stature there too.
