Secondly, they are less likely to be motivated by “entertainment”, “filling spare time” and “updating friends with their life”, again a demonstration of the value the web plays in building productivity and business value.
Chart Of The Day: The Key Demographics of iPad Users
With the recent launch of the iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina display, it is a key time to establish how the iPad has done to date. Today’s chart looks at the percentage of key demographics globally that currently use iOS on their tablet device. The results reveal the skew you would expect, with highly educated, high earners, aged 25-34 leading the way. The question is, can the new models continue to drive adoption or replacement among these users?
Where are the Facebook Teens Going?
Following Friday’s examination of recent trends related to the decline in Facebook usage among teens, GlobalWebIndex’s Stream Analyst team turned their attention to the social platforms and applications that have replaced Facebook. The chart below looks at the change in active usage of social services and mobile apps of teens aged 16-19, and there is a very clear story with the big winners being messenger, video and photo apps. WeChat has growing a staggering 1021% between Q1 and Q3 in 2013, followed by Vine (639%) and then Flickr (254%).
